LIFE GROUP RESOURCES & PRACTICES

Life Groups are meeting at this time. Some are still occasionally taking advantage of online resources or conferencing options as needed, but many are also gathering together and taking thoughtful precautions to do so in a way that respects everyone in the group. If it is best for some people in the group to stay home at this time, the leaders are seeking to include them via Zoom, FaceTime, etc. The goal is to do our best to stay connected and encourage one another in the truth during a season where it is so easy to focus on countless other things. We have been greatly encouraged by our Life Groups and those who lead them.

Some online options to help as needed:

Zoom’s basic account service is free! Here is a link to some excellent video tutorials to help you learn to use Zoom effectively. *We have become aware of some potential bugs in the older versions of the Zoom application that make your calls susceptible to hackers; therefore, we wanted to provide some tips for success just to make sure we are being extra safe! 1) Make sure that your application is up to date. The latest version of the application increased security and fixed bugs present in previous versions. 2) Promote your meetings via email or text and NOT via social media platforms. This will keep only those who are involved in the meeting in the know about the details. 3) When using the Zoom application, avoid browsing on the same device. Try to Zoom on one device and email, surf, etc., on another one if possible. Again, this will avoid drawing unnecessary attention to your device while using the Zoom application.

Google Meet is another option as well and is also free. Here is a link to the Google Meet Help Page!

We pray that you and your life groups will continue to discover that God lacks no good thing that we need, even in moments like this (or maybe, especially in moments like this). By God's grace, let us love God and love our neighbors well...one day at a time.
